Lucious Bloodfire seemingly appeared out of nowhere in 2020 with a fistful of YouTube singles that whet the appetites of those worldwide who like their metal melodic and dark. Their much lauded debut album ‘Origin’ was released in Feb. 2021, featuring notable special guest guitarists Tom Draper (Spirit Adrift, Carcass), Carey Howe (Leatherwolf), and Craig Behrhorst (Ruffians).

But ‘nowhere’ really started in 2015, when the original nucleus of the band formed in Oakland, CA. Made up of a host of Bay Area rock/metal/punk alumni, Lucious Bloodfire (Walk The Sky, Mad Hatter), Jeff Lemas (Walk The Sky, Claymation Horror Show), Joe Selby (3 Years Down, The Winona Ryders), Rich Williamson (The End, Electric Jesus), Devin Lacey (Defcon 5, Ruffians) commenced work on what would ultimately be the melodic goth metal ear worms that made up their debut album.

Ah, the famous debut album. Originally released in Oct. 2020 under the title ‘World Insurrection’, with artwork that eerily foreshadowed the Jan 6th attack on the U.S. Capital. No, the band are not soothsayers (that we know of), nor did the band want to tie themselves to that historically awful day. They immediately pulled the album from distribution, came up with new artwork, a new title and further tweaked the masters, lending itself to a much improved version, released on Feb 1, 2021.

Plans to do shows to support the album in 2021 proved futile with the pandemic raging hard. A wise man once said ‘you gotta know when to hold ‘em, know when to fold ‘em’, and Lucious himself decided to pack up his coffin and relocate to Montreal to help spread the gospel of Lucious Bloodfire across the border to unsuspecting victims.

In 2022, after a year of spreading Lucious lore to Montreal and beyond, Lucious hopped on a train back to the Bay Area. The band then released a host of brand new metal nuggets as a series of E.P.s titled ‘The Ninth Circle, Volumes 1-4’. They have collected The Ninth Circle E.P. series, added bonus tracks, sprinkled some remastering dust from the depths of despair on everything, and now present to you ‘The Ninth Circle, ABSOLUTE’!

Lucious Bloodfire are now booking shows and hitting the stage, bringing their evillive show to any venue willing to have their walls rattled.

Praise Lucious Bloodfire!

Lucious Bloodfire - Lead Vocals & Keyboards

Lucious Bloodfire was born as a human in 1666 on a farm just outside of Helsinki, Finland. By all accounts his mother was a woman of ill repute. Not much is known about his father. He could have been any number of Ne’er-do-wells from all over Northwestern Europe.

Lucious became immortal at the age of 19 by a vampire named Akasha. From that moment on he has been obsessed with world domination, as Emperor of planet Earth. His ambition is only matched by his ego. In the long years since, Lucious traveled the world seeking adventure and fortune, eventually finding himself in the New World where for a time he became of all things a gunslinger and dark figure of the Old West.

In the modern age his focus pivoted toward fame and fortune in the entertainment industry. He started a heavy metal band in his namesake for the purpose of manipulating young minds and hearts to become his minions and army, the end goal: taking over this world as Fearless Leader.

The bands debut full-length musical effort “ORIGIN” is both a chronicle of Lucious’ rise to power and a means to make their mark upon this earth. 14 songs of planet-crushing metal and mind-altering orchestral interludes to freeze your soul and guide you to your new purpose in life: TO SERVE LORD LUCIOUS!

Jeff Lemas - Drums

“Salem” drums with the thunder of armageddon and has a passion for metal music like no other. His ear for mixing and orchestrating the sounds captured make for the heaviest and darkest, and yet most melodic Lucious Bloodfire recordings. Which is why he was The Chosen One to mix and master the bands music.

Joe Selby - Bass

“Szandor” lays down the bottom end to wake the fallen and bring about a new age of darkness. His skills of weaving in between the drums, guitars, synthesizers and orchestrations are perfectly suited for the band that will usher in The New Order of Metal.

Rich Williamson - Guitars

“Morlock” fingers the fretboard like a puppet master moving the strings of world leaders bent on destruction. His passion for the guitar and songwriting is matched only by his striking good looks and charismatic persona. Mortals are overcome with rapture at the sound of his playing and at the sight of his presence on stage.
